Our Mission

The Church of the Transfiguration was formed in August 1996. We are a parish affiliated with the Anglican Fellowship of the Delaware Valley and the Diocese of the Holy Cross. The Diocese of the Holy Cross is a Forward in Faith Diocese, and is part of the Federation of Anglican Churches in America, which is a Ministry Partner of the Anglican Church in North America.

Our tradition is part of the one, great Tradition of the undivided Church in the first millennium, embracing the seven Ecumenical Councils, the Apostles,’ Nicene and Athanasian Creeds, the Apostolic Ministry of male Deacons, Priests and Bishops, the Seven Sacraments as the divinely appointed means of grace, the Holy Scriptures as the infallible Word of God and the veneration of our Lord’s most pure and holy Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Our morality is that of the New Testament and we therefore embrace the standards of Matrimony and family life expressed there. We are, accordingly, unambiguously pro-life and believe in the legal protection of all life from conception to natural death.

A vital aspect of our Vocation is to reveal the essential unity of the Body of Christ and so we proclaim our communion with all Catholic and Orthodox Christians throughout the world.

Our mission is to worship Almighty God with the historic Liturgy of our Church, the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, and to teach our children and grandchildren the Catholic and Apostolic Faith and to bear witness in our lives to the love of our heavenly Father, revealed through Jesus Christ, in the Holy Spirit.
